# VPS Partnership & Integration Strategy

## 1. The Affiliate Landscape

We evaluated the top providers based on Cost, Performance (Latency), and Affiliate Potential.

## 2. The "One-Click" Problem

Affiliate links are **high friction**.

1. User buys Certio (\$20).
2. User clicks link to buy VPS (\$10).
3. User waits for VPS email instructions.
4. User RDPs into VPS.
5. User downloads/installs Certio.
   **Drop-off rate is huge (>50%).**

## 3. The "Certio Cloud" Opportunity (Recommended)

Instead of an affiliate link, we should **White Label** Hetzner Cloud.

**The "Managed Bridge" Model:**

1. User clicks "Add Bridge" in Dashboard.
2. User pays Certio **\$10/mo** (Feature Flag add-on).
3. Certio API calls Hetzner API -> Spawns `CX11` Server (€3.79/mo).
4. Certio deploys Bridge Docker Image automatically.
5. **User Profit**: Instant Setup, No RDP needed.
6. **Certio Profit**: \~60% Margin (\$6/mo per user).

**Benefits:**

1. **Lower Latency**: We control the server location (same datacenter as Ingress).
2. **Stickiness**: Harder to churn if we host the infrastructure.
3. **Revenue**: Recurring revenue is better than one-time affiliate bounty.
4. **Zombie Guard**: Perfect synergy. If the server is ours, we ensure uptime.

## 4. Implementation Plan

### Phase 1: Affiliate (Immediate)

* Add a "Recommended Hardware" page.
* Link to **Contabo** (Budget) and **FXVM** (Pro) with disclaimer.
* *Effort: Low.*

### Phase 2: Certio Cloud (Q3 2026)

* Build `services/provisioner`.
* Integrate Hetzner Cloud API.
* Offer "One-Click Managed Bridge".
* *Effort: High.*

## 5. Recommendation

**Do NOT bet the business on Affiliates.** They add friction and support headaches ("My VPS is slow, fix it Certio").
**Bet on "Certio Cloud".** Owning the infrastructure makes us impossible to beat on price/performance.
